Society of Evangelical Arminians

It is with much excitement that I announce the new website Society of Evangelical Arminianism which officially launched Wednesday, April 9, 2008! What a blessing it will be to have an official and much needed presence for the Arminian/non-Calvinist position. There are many qualified contributors, including first rate scholars. I hope you will bookmark the (SEA) site and make it a regular read.

Very interesting. I look forward to reading the various works that are given on those pages.

I love the prevenient grace statement in Article V as it agrees that humans cannot believe without a work of the Holy Spirit - very Augustinian - Beware the slippery slope ;)

Hey Leo, good to see you.

If you'll remember, I've always maintained that we could not believe without the work of the Holy Spirit (very biblical); I just did not know that the Arminians believed that way, too. Calvinists have painted Arminians as Pelagian at worst and Semi-Pelagian at best: both totally and completely untrue. I now no longer mind being called Arminian since I now know their true beliefs...Classical Arminians, that is.

No slippery slope here as prevenient grace is totally different from the theological concept that God has only graced some with faith/belief in Him while leaving others in their sin or that He arbitrarily chose some from before the foundation of the world for reasons only known to Himself. The bible is quite clear that God chooses those who would believe and that He died for every man.

I hope you enjoy the SEA site.
